I've been thinking about a line from the Disney/Pixar movie WALL-E (highly recommend, even if you don't have kids). The Captain of the space cruise liner announces to the passengers that they will be celebrating the 700th anniversary of their five year cruise. The passengers in that time have evolved into lazy blobs sitting in lounge chairs, drifting from one time-killing activity to another. After I year in a lockdown, I can relate.
There are a lot of themes in the movie - love, ecology, man vs. machine, man vs. self...and at the risk of a spoiler, the overall theme is finding growth. A little plant that is proof that the Earth is habitable is the trigger for most of the action in the movie.
Keep growing. It's some of the best advice I can give.
Keep learning new things, whether it's how to be better at your job, be a better leader, or parent, or student, or just to learn something new. Travel the world (when we can safely do so again) or just work to be fully present with what's right in front of you. It might not be easy, but it can be done. A tiny seed can grow to be the largest of trees.
Having help to cultivate yourself into what you can ultimately be will go a long way. A coach, a mentor, or supportive friends and family. Surround yourself with people that will enable you to grow...who will encourage you along the way.
You can do it. We believe you can.
If you need help, let us know. We'd like to hear from you.
