Some things you need to learn for yourself - like tying your shoes. But there are no rules against learning from other's experiences. One of NPR's podcasts in my regular playlist is "How I Built This" with interviews with company founders.
Many of their stories are a hero's journey, filled with setbacks, failures, and disasters...on the way to becoming a success. I was listening to the story of Canva, one of Australia's unicorns (startups valued at over $1B) and was struck by how founder Melanie Perkins learned from her failures and mistakes and built her company.
